Born in Beijing, China, Chong began his formal dance training at the prestigious Beijing Dance Academy, where he studied on a full scholarship for seven years, graduating in 2009. He then received another full scholarship to continue his training at the Kirov Academy of Washington, D.C., one of the leading ballet schools in the United States.

In 2010, Chong was awarded First Prize at the World Ballet Competition, which led him to join The Washington Ballet. During his time there, he rose to the rank of Soloist and performed numerous leading roles, including Peter in Peter Pan, the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland (Weber), and the Cavalier in The Nutcracker.

In 2015, Chong joined Tulsa Ballet as a Demi-Soloist. Since then, he has performed a wide range of principal roles, including Renfield in Dracula (Stevenson), Rothbart in Swan Lake, Bluebird in The Sleeping Beauty (Angelini), and the Famous Singer in Vendetta: A Mafia Story (Ochoa). He has also performed works by internationally renowned choreographers such as Nacho Duato, Jiří Kylián, Alexander Ekman, Ma Cong, Edwaard Liang, Derek Deane, and Andy Blankenbuehler, among others.

After a 15-year career as a professional ballet dancer, Chong transitioned into the field of fitness and performance training. He is a certified personal trainer and sports nutrition specialist through the National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF), and serves as a professional trainee program instructor and the official physical trainer for Tulsa Ballet. He is also the founder and owner of Evolve Body Pilates Studio, where he works with professional and pre-professional dancers to prevent injuries and enhance performance. He offers specialized cross-training for dancers and has developed a proprietary Pilates-based method that seamlessly integrates cross-training principles to optimize strength, control, and longevity in performance.
