Owner/Director
Jana Wingo Pfarr is the proud Co- Owner and Director of Theatre Arts. She began her dance and musical theatre training at Theatre Arts at the age of 3. She attended numerous summer intensives and went on to study in Los Angeles, New York City, and Las Vegas via dance convention scholarships. Jana received a full tuition scholarship to Oklahoma City University from the Miss America organization where she placed top 10 in the Miss Oklahoma pageant and won both rookie and overall talent awards. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Dance Performance from Oklahoma City University with a focus on jazz, tap, and ballet pedagogy as well as choreography theory.
Professionally, Jana’s performance career led her to perform alongside such stars as Kristen Chenoweth in the Rose Parade National Telecast and Kelly O’Hara in the Oklahoma Centennial Celebration. Jana has also performed around the world as a dancer with Holland America Cruise Line, Rob Lake’s “A Night of Magic Tour” (dance captain and choreographer), and Branson’s Music City Centre.
Jana is passionate about teaching and impacting the next generation through the arts and is grateful for the opportunity to do so in the place where it all started for her! She has trained students that went on to receive talent scholarships to the Julliard School, University of Arizona, Oklahoma City University, Texas Tech, Loyola Marymount, Point Park, Pittsburgh Ballet School, the University of Oklahoma, and the University of Central Oklahoma. She also has several students that have gone on to dance on collegiate dance teams across the country. Dozens of Jana’s students are now embarking on their professional performance careers in the commercial dance scene, contemporary dance, choreography, music theatre, as well as several former students that are now dance teachers themselves. She is so, so proud of all of the Theatre Arts alum and helping the next generation of artists see their dreams become a reality is her greatest passion!
Jana and her husband Jake also are the hosts of “The Dance Parent Podcast“, an educational podcast for parents of dancers of any age that covers a different topic in the dance world each week.
